Description
Summary: The staff pharmacist is a part time hourly position that oversees the day to day operations of the pharmacy. Handles everyday pharmacy duties, clinical aspects, non sterile compounding and oversight of staff. This position will be 20-30 hours per week and will include every other Saturday shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Evaluate orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration
- Discuss therapies with patients and health care providers to help make right decision for the patient
- Update and maintain patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication therapy to include OTC products and other therapeutic alternatives
- Document all communication with patients, caregivers, and other health care professionals
- Maintain all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies
- Perform and lead clinical tasks to include MTM, diagnostic screenings and testings and immunizations
- Supervise all staff
- Inventory management to include commercial and lab inventory
- Must have attention to detail
- Performs other tasks as assigned
Licenses:
- Active and unrestricted Arizona Pharmacist license
- Active and unrestricted Arizona Immunization license
Education and Experience:
- Pharm. D or BS in Pharmacy
- 3 years of high paced retail, specialty and/or compounding experience
- 1 year of Immunization experience
- Excellent clinical judgement skills
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations (state and federal)
